Affordable Arboreal Snakes?

A green bush rat snake (gonyosoma prasinum) is an option you could explore. They’re stunning snakes. They get around 3 1/2ft long and are diurnal and arboreal, so they’d make for an excellent display animal. They’re not common, but there’s typically 1 or 2 for sale on MM at any given time.

Also, a spotted python (antaresia maculosa) would do great in that exclosure. Mine is very arboreal. She does strike frequently, though, I pretty much only handle her with a hook these days. If you can find one with a good disposition, that’d be another great candidate for your enclosure.

“semi-arboreal” is definitely a spectrum. Boas for instance are all over the place depending on locality and just each specific animal. Sometimes age, tho I see adults sometimes climb just as much if something can actually hold their weight haha.

But I even have one snake that both burrows under stuff and climbs as high as possible depending on time of day! Lol
