I would give him a massage if i wasnt sure hed be mad at me im just getting him to the point where i can hold him for a little while without him snapping at me lol its been a long process (when i 1st got him it was almost impossible to hold him i assume he had been handled little to none before me pet store snake)ill let him try to run away though and just try to keep a better hold on the topside if he tolerates it i usually keep a very gental hold under him
Ok then leave off the heat
Just a update hes shed off a lot of it now the pillow case didnt take a ton off itself (did make him poop though lol) after crawling through after being in there i saw some come off but the towel is helping a lot in his hide and the part i have in front of his entrance along with keeping his cool side hide wet as well its a mosslike material
Glad he’s getting rid of his shed. The pillow case is best when the snake doesn’t have a lot of shed to remove but if you had used it 2 or 3 days in a row it would have helped more.
Good to know it takes a bit longer im ganna keep doing it to then i just got some more water to for a full soak i didnt have enough to cover his back here water is slightly chlorinated so i didnt want to use the tap to do a full soak im sure he would be fine but we dont even use tap without it sitting 24 hours for fish and the way i see it its the same thing against his skin and eyes
Glad he’s coming along.
Nothing wrong with being cautious, but normally chlorinated tap water wouldn’t be a problem for a soak, even if the snake drinks it. The issue with fish is different; they’re breathing the stuff. The snake’s scales, skin, and eyes (protected by clear scales also) will be fine. If you’re able to bathe or shower in it, it’s safe for him, too.
