Boa Constrictors!

You need a rack system for all your boas. Plus the others you want to get. I may send you another one someday too

VPI Snowglow?! Nice!

@starchild26 No problem. I know pastel was a bit of a mystery for me at first, I just knew I liked them. If you get a second constrictor, a pastel would be an amazing choice. You’d have the best of both worlds between that and your IMG Motley. Pastels seem like a bargain to me when you consider all the work that goes into those lines. Just beware, lots of mislabeled pastels out there.

I was thinking the same thing!

And thanks for the heads up about mislabeling. I’ll make sure to do my research. I’m not looking to get another snake anytime soon, but eventually I’d like to have 2-4 snakes. I thought I liked colubrids but Nova is making me reconsider all of my future snake plans lol. The boa personality/temperament is just wonderful! And I like that they’re larger and more deliberate in their movements. I was always afraid I’d accidentally hurt my corn snake while handling because she was so tiny, quick, and darty. I don’t have to worry so much with Nova and it’s much more enjoyable! Plus, there’s just something magnificent about a big snake (but not so big that it’s dangerous to handle alone). Long story short, I’ve been converted. I’m officially a boa person!

That’s what I love about them too. I took my oldest daughter into a reptile shop and she started holding a few different types of smaller snakes and all I could think about was how much more chill my boas that I had in the past were. I had her hold a baby boa constrictor in the shop and it was over, she loved it. We went home, she did a full report on husbandry/care and basic information on habitat and we got Pinky our RC hypo jungle girl a few weeks later. Then I decided to get myself one a month after that…and then well a couple more… :eyes:
I’ll take the chill demeanor along with the size any day. It’s pretty much boas or nothing for me haha  I’ve kept a rat snake and ball pythons in the past but theres nothing quite like boa, for me.

I plan to put all of my male in one once I have a few. I really like the idea of the females have the enclosures though.

Yeah she is a 2021 also so she has some size on her.

I’m beginning to feel the same way. I’ve held/interacted with ball pythons in the past. They’re cute, and there are some beautiful morphs, but they just kinda sit there. Boas are much more interactive during handling. And colubrids are great, but there’s just something special about boas. So much so that I think I might just stick to keeping a couple boas (and maybe a jungle carpet python, but that’s a post for another thread lol). Boas have definitely won me over!

Part of me REALLY wants a boa, but I’m not a big person at all, so I don’t know if I could handle one…
but they’re soooo pretty!

You can handle it . I am 5’ 7” and not a hefty man.

Thank you man, it means alot to have all of you say such kind words. Slowly but surely I’ll have my dream of producing pure FLRT boas. I was at Brians today and took a picture of 2 of his boas that have such drastic colors. The classic yellow and a wild red, keep an eye out on that future project👍

Those are both insane, that red one though, wow!
