Now for my input
As for not pooping, it could be and you just missing it, depending on the substrate.
Also, since you cut back the size and frequency, along with the hight temp, the output is not going to be much. So it could be over looked or almost noting at all.
As far ar over weight, we would need to see a picture of it to tell. One straight and one coiled or some bends.
I have seen people use jumpstart thermostats and have them work, so that’s interesting that you have heard otherwise. I haven’t heard anything about the DHP, or people using them but that could just be me.
I can only find on/off mat stat jumpstart thermostats. You need a dimming stat for a dhp, but if youre doing well with a manual dimmer switch then thats fine. A lot of experienced keepers use them, but I usually dont recommend them to beginned keepers because theyre easy to get wrong.
As for everthing else people with more experience than me have alresdy given better experience than i can, best of luck
Don’t worry, I don’t expect a BP to be lean, as in a corn snake or something. I just mean that I’d like him to be more triangular than too round. He’s definitely not starving with me. I do know that overweight BP can also get those small ‘hips’ by the tail though. It feels like mine has that to a very tiny extent at certain angles, nowhere near the video though. I’m definitely aiming for a 5 at least.
The manual dimmer has been working fine. It’s been consistent, but of course fluctuates depending on whether the heater is on or not. I’ve always been told they’re a terrible idea thought and couldn’t replace an actual thermostat, so the fact that others use them is a relief lol
UPDATE: My BP ended up pooping normally. I think he just likes absorbing every possible atom of the rat. Now that I know I no longer worry. Thanks everyone.
