Breeding Ideas?

I have recently just purchased my first (m) ball python. He is super pastel fire spider pos OD. I’m a little new so I figured I’d ask what a good first female would be for him? In other words, i want to start breeding and selling within the next few years. I want my first clutch to be beautiful! Project ideas?? Leave your opinions down below!

Honestly I would spend some time just acclimating to ball python ownership, learning more about the species and their husbandry, before trying to launch yourself into breeding. Spend some time in the community talking to other breeders, learning the different morphs and seeing what you like, and you will develop an idea for what morphs you would like to breed one day.

that’s the best part about breeding ball pythons, you can literally pair him to any type of girl you want!
I would get a female with OD in her to see if any supers are made then prove that part out, if no supers then you know there will be OD in the offspring regardless and make some more cool stuff

Well, right. That’s kind of what I’m doing now lol. I’ve been doing this for about 6 months before I came across the male. (Research, forum browsing, asking around). I wanted to make sure it was perfect. I’m just asking for some educated opinions and project ideas. What are some cool morphs I can produce with your opinionated female of choice.

An Orange Dream Vanilla or Super Vanilla female could make some cool stuff with your male, such as a Orange Dream Vanilla Cream Bee.

This is spot on. The thing to keep in mind what I think is a good pairing you may not. I wouldn’t rush to just stack females. Taking to the time to really know what you want to work with and what projects you want to do will save you time and money in the end. You have to pick stuff you are passionate about or else you may burn out quickly. If your not excited about pairings and projects every year what’s the point of breeding? Also maintaining a decent size collection before you breed will only help you. Trying to figure out how to keep animals and how to breed them at the same time is a recipe for disaster. And then adding hatchlings on top of it can be overwhelming if your not prepared for it.
