Made it home from all the running around and there are 6 little pippies now. Two Strawberry Granites, one Strawberry Fire, three Strawberry Bloodreds. Not gonna try and sort who’s RF or Super RF at this point. It’s hard to see one of the noses from this angle but they’re there.

Thanks y’all! All the combos from Allstar and Annelie are beautiful. I was thrilled with their 2024 babies, which is why they had a repeat pairing this season.
@caron , your boy looks so much like his mother at that age! I need to post some updated pics of his siblings who are here. Gonna have to wait until tomorrow at least though.

Arrrrgh, not about babies. So far they’re coming out and coming along. Two Strawberry Bloodreds have emerged. Only two eggs are yet to pip. I see 4 Strawberry Fires (who are seriously red already), 4 Strawberry Granites, and the others are Strawberry Bloodreds. The odds are a bit skewed since there are 2 more Fires than the odds would suggest. Really hoping to see at least one Strawberry Avalanche from those final two eggs. Odds say they both should be, but odds aren’t rules.

Here’s the “arrrrrgh.” Had a storm go through last night. Had a lot of wind and rain. Lost power for a bit, lost internet (which is still coming and going). It took out the neighbor’s big old rotting maple which was about a foot behind our property line. The tree fell about as well as it could have. Didn’t hit our garage, though it took a couple limbs from a water oak. Didn’t hit the owners’ shed, or the other neighbor’s fence or shed. We’ve got a lot of their debris in the yard now though, and a lot of other debris from branches. It’s super hot and humid so we’re not even trying to clean it up today. Not sure if there will be a squabble with the neighbor who historically has argued about cleanup when limbs from their tree fell in our yard. The height of the roots is about 6’. I can’t get pics to upload but it’s a mess.

Sorry about the storm and the fallout! We had to replace a chunk of our fence last year and it was so expensive, so I had a shudder thinking of how bad it could have been for you guys. I hope your neighbor cooperates with cleanup and isn’t a dingus about it.
Silver lining, though: I bet if you know anyone who makes naturalistic enclosures they’d be stoked to harvest some cool limbs from that root ball. I know I would, hah!

Thanks! I love seeing pippies and pippy pics. I had their little bin sitting on the table near me when doing some paperwork. I still have that sense of wonder and joy, seeing new beings breathing air and looking at the world.
Don’t think I wasn’t looking at it this morning! I really don’t know if there’s much worth getting though. The tree was so very termite-ridden and rotted.

Old rotting wood makes wonderful Isopod food! At least I’d see about using it 
Heck if I can find anything outdoors small enough to bake in the oven or boil to sterilize and nice enough to put in a bio enclosure I always have that thought in the back of my head.
Wouldn’t risk the termites though

Looks like everyone has pipped and about half were out when I last looked. Going to have some terrific color, I can tell already. I’m sad that this clutch didn’t include any Strawberry Avalanches, though I do still have a shot at getting one or more of those from the parents’ second clutch. I can’t be disappointed though. These babies are wonderfully lovely and they are all healthy so far. I don’t have any good images of a Strawberry Granite yet though I’ve seen a couple of very nice ones but here are a couple more shots for picture tax. Pardon the blurry baby who didn’t want to pose.
