Thank you. You’re very right, corns are much more forgiving about putting off meal time than the dogs are.
As for the moms, Dan fed Narcissa yesterday. She was appreciative. She’s been eager to eat any time at all. I am always happier when they eat well. Annelie is still very gravid as of this morning. It’s been 6 days since her pre-lay shed. Tomorrow is day 40, which is when she laid before. This time around she’s eaten well the whole time. In 2024 she refused several meals prior to her pre-lay shed. I expect that she’ll get through laying without difficulty but of course you can’t totally know until it’s over. Hopefully it will be over soon!

Just checked on Annelie. She’s quite restless for the first time since her shed. Dan gave her fresh water and I checked to be sure her moss is moist. It would be nice to see some eggs in the morning!

It’s morning. And…
YAY!!!
I won’t be checking again until evening. Gotta go to the doctor about my hamstring/whatever and I’m sure that will take a while. I’ve also got one who will ship today. Being mobility compromised isn’t fun but it will minimize my possibly bothering Annelie while she is laying. There’s an unexpected upside 
.

I did indeed have to hunt for this one! 
The day has been long and painful and wearying, and not actually very informative as far as my knee. Long story short, xrays didn’t really answer the question (color me not surprised), but I am precertified for a CT scan tomorrow so I guess we’ll find out something.
On to funner things. Annelie looks to have 16 perfect eggs out. I don’t think she’s quite done. I put the lid back on and am going to lie down. Got the moss soaking to be ready tomorrow. I’ll check on her first thing, before the CT. I don’t want to stress her while she’s finishing. Quick pic below.

Annelie is progressing well! I really feel for you having to deal with doctors, testing, and no answers. Fact is I think a lot of doctors these days don’t have answers because they’re too busy looking at little laptops they carry around instead of looking at the Patient.
Today I’m having my 3rd nerve ablation at the base of my spine in 3 years. Next week I get to have another stress test on the good ole treadmill and after that probably another heart cath and who knows after that! 
. All of this is a repeat of 2022? I just need to go ahead and have a heart attack and cut to the chase. Then I could have a stent put in without another stress test and another cath.
But I digress! Sorry about that!!!

Final tally is 16 perfect eggs! Annelie was apparently done last night. I set them up this morning and checked her over. The proud mama accepted a fuzzy, so it seems all is well. Incidentally, she laid on Day 40 this year, and also in 2024. In 2024 the first noses appeared on Day 60. If that hold again, these eggs should pip on 26 June. The countdown is on.
Annelie’s color is more correct here than in the flash photo from the first egg. Hooray for healthy mamas!

Oh gosh, I’m sorry to hear about all of that. Ugghhhh. I hope at least that you get some relief from those procedures. 
I’m super frustrated with a lot of the medical stuff. F’rinstance, today was a 3 hour odyssey which accomplished nothing and must be repeated tomorrow. The Ortho Urgent Care did nothing correctly in terms of setting up the CT so it didn’t happen. Theoretically scheduled for a CT at 1300 tomorrow. Guess we’ll see. But I digress.
Meanwhile, there are 16 beautiful new eggs which should reveal lovely RF/Super RF Strawberry Bloodreds, Granites, Fires and Avalanches (with lovely Halo possibilities added) in a couple months. Hurray!

I’m excited about this clutch. Tickled that Annelie did everything perfectly, too. She looks great. With her first clutch, she stopped eating pretty early. She’s eaten like a pig the whole time this year.
Narcissa is also eating enthusiastically. Hoping she does as well as Annelie.

I have seen this same thing with Luna. My goodness I’m glad she decided to eat this year, unlike her first year. Maybe it just takes a season for them to realize that food helps
@caron & @caryl I’ll spare you my health journey, but I will just say that I feel WITH you all 100%. I think most doctors really do care, but the system itself doesn’t reward them for taking their time and looking at the bigger picture of the patient’s overall health. There is a harmony of the body that should tie all the specialists together, but instead the system severs them. It’s like the Indian story of the blind men arguing about what the elephant looks like. Personally, I’ve had better luck with holistic docs and nutrition, but nothing has been perfect and I confess I’m tired of wasting money on them all 
I tend to trust Google and my own gut instincts over just about anything else now…

Interesting observation. I always hate it if they go off food. I haven’t had it happen often. Maybe it is more of a primigravida thing. I would have to dig out the way-back notes to look at it in my own little bit of world. Interesting.
I, too, have a much longer odyssey with which I won’t bother folks. In my experience, you’re right on this point. Also true that, if you go see a surgeon, they’ll usually recommend surgery. The classic trope about how to a person with only a hammer, every problem is a nail. That said, I currently can’t walk. I have done literal years of PT for various issues. Hoping that the current trouble will resolve with PT.
