Cedar and pine bark are not suitable for any animal. They contain phenols which are toxic to reptiles especially. The pine trees that grow in New Caledonia are a different kind of pine that does not contain the same phenols. Pine bedding that is kiln dried is the only kind of pine suitable for animals because kiln drying removes phenols. This kind of pine bedding is not suitable for cresteds though because it will not retain moisture probably and will mold easily. Hope this helps!

I believe Fur bark is used in orchid bark mix. However there are a few different types of fur trees, some are safe for reptiles, however some are hazardous to reptiles. So as long as it’s a reptile safe fur!
