Change in 2026 CG Breeding Plans!

This morning marks the 3rd time Aphrodite has laid dud eggs for me. After only recieving 1 viable egg from her from a male she was paired with before I recieved her, I have made a decision…

Originally I had wanted to let this season pass without pairing her again to the male I recieved with her and just hatch out any eggs she laid with me from her previous pairing… but I was expecting her to lay more viable eggs than just one.

So I decided to go ahead and pair her to the male I got her with, Ares. For the rest of the 2026 season until Aphrodite exhausts stored sperm from this pairing I will be looking forward to seeing some babies from them! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I put Ares with Aphrodite earlier this evening and after about 30 minutes I came back and they were locked up.

Oh I’m so excited to see their babies!

Their previous owner showed me some photos of their grown kiddos and they are gorgeous :heart_eyes:

Aphrodite and Ares produce really vibrant red base LWs

The only thing I hope Ares doesn’t pass down is his temperament (hence the name) :laughing::sweat_smile: He’s pretty high-strung, so he’s more of a look-don’t-touch CG. Aphrodite on the other hand is a sweetheart.

Looking forward to getting some eggs from this pairing very soon​:crossed_fingers:. Checking on Aphrodite today I could feel the eggs in her belly just passively holding her.

Hopefully these won’t be slugs this time!

Came to check on Aphrodite again this morning and she was buried deep in her substrate :slight_smile:

Came back after lunch to find these pearly whites, both have strong embryos inside!
