Just thought I’d share, my 3rd and likely last clutch for the season dropped today! Been waiting on this girl for what felt like forever to lay these eggs. We just moved early this week, so it looks like we timed it just right. She is a first time mom, and laid 6 healthy eggs!
Bamboo calico should be interesting! Don’t think I’ve seen that before! Congratulations and good luck!
I think I’ll probably throw some high white stuff. What do you think?
I’m hoping for some high white stuff, with some funky patterns. From what I’ve seen online bamboo calicos are pretty cool looking. Very excited!
Kinda hard to say without seeing the parent. But pin and bamboo are very strong genes think they might subdue the calico quite a bit.
I have only hatched a few calico clutches but one did have pin in it and that combo was low white for me. I would think bamboo may be the same way but zero experience to back that up lol.Seems in my experiences to get the crazy high white washed out stuff super pastel calico combos are the way to go.
I agree. Just doing a quick search on MM, you’ll see that a lot of bamboo calicos have low white, but some very different unique patterns. Looking forward to seeing how YB acts in there as well
All depends on what your trying to accomplish! Yellowbelly calico can be wonky in a good way lol. I like super pastel and lesser calico combos! Hope to do a clutch next year. I have a male holdback who is butter fire coral glow calico who should throw some neat stuff! Calico is fun like champagne you usually get some weird stuff!
My calico boy is going to an od het hypo next year. Pretty excited for some od calico stuff. I am going to possibly look into some Champaign in the next couple years; seeing some of your combos has made me want to get involved in it.
That’s awesome! Have a champagne clutch due to hatch in about a week!
What was the pairing?
Black pastel champagne hypo x albino enchi pinstripe pastel
