I hope so the days are rally dragging but were watching my mums 4 tortoises for a week on tuesday so that should keep me busy

The heatwave is finally over its only 26c today 
And the incubator seems to be keeping a consistent temp of 82.6 to 83.1
Keeping everything crossed the babies are ok and that they will hatch before day 71 (ideally start by date 68 
)
At those temp what are my chances?

Going to be a small reality check here.
There’s honestly no way to know until the eggs die or they hatch. Even with a steady temp you can still have incubation problems.
It’s just the risks we have while breeding. We all want healthy animals. But there’s always risks to injury on the parents or problems with the eggs/hatchlings.
I’ve lost a couple due to kinks in a perfectly incubated clutch. Just was a bad pairing.
But the hope is to have happy healthy babies and parents. So try to manifest that in the meantime. And you can prepare better for if you decide to try again. =)

Glad the heat has broken and temps are holding steady. As for how and and at what rate the eggs’ development will progress, Christina is right. There is simply no way to know except to wait and see.
It’s reasonable to hope that if they survived, they could well pip before you leave.

I’m sorry if I missed it above, but how long are you away on holiday?
You could always consider bringing the eggboxes to a friend to watch over while you’re gone. They really don’t need much for the first few days after hatching. maybe just a shallow plate with some clean water at most. The only real issue is if you needed to cut any eggs.
Day 71 is far enough I think if they haven’t pipped on their own and you’ll only be gone for a few days… I don’t know if the corn breeders here would agree but if they were BP eggs that were due I would cut them. That way I at least gave them the chance to get out if they were having trouble or no egg tooth. you don’t have to cut all the way, just leave enough space for a face to get through.

If they haven’t pipped before you do leave, I would see if a friend can check in on them in situ. @armiyana is correct, healthy babies don’t really need much initially. As long as they can’t get into contact with anything dangerous inside the incubator, they should do fine with some water and some damp material in which to snuggle.
As for cutting the eggs, though I know it’s a pretty regular thing in BPs, it’s done far less commonly with corns. I very rarely cut eggs myself. When I do, it’s because an egg hasn’t pipped within 24 after the most recent pip ( the last to pip, not the first). Like so much in breeding, it’s a personal decision to be considered carefully.

@caryl Unfortunately I dont have any friends originally my mum was going to watch them if they didnt hatch but because her husband passed last month shes going to be joining us on the holidays

My dad brought us up
The only other people I know are my husband family but there all terrified of snakes 
Were going for 8 days but are only and hr away so I plan to put a camera in/aimed at the incubator so I can see if any do pip
I have actually been tempted to take them with us but worry they will move around in the van
The incubator can be plugged in in the van so temp are kept consistent

Gotcha. It can be a much bigger challenge to get people to check on on one’s serpents than, say, one’s plants or cat. The eggs should be all right at home if they haven’t pipped before you leave.
I wouldn’t take them with you, and that’s not because of temperature control concerns. There’s a risk of disrupting the bubble which forms inside the egg for gas exchange. It’s not so fragile that the egg cannot be touched but the vibrations of travel could destroy the delicate balance inside the egg, suffocating the embryos. Not worth the risk imho.

The temps are still stable at 8q.9 to 83.4 the incubator seems to drop at night even tho its set at a set temp and goes bk up by9am ish
I got a memory come up on fb from 2 yrs ago its hard to believe my boy s’mores was ever that small lol
