Congratulations on your first clutch, Jacob! @deanaii knows what he’s talking about with masque, so definitely trust his advice. I’ll add my opinion as well that, yes, het palmetto really brightens things. Well, most things. As far as I can tell, it cancels out red factor and limits halo, but otherwise makes most normal colors very vibrant. It’s a very interesting gene!
I never heard the RF and Halo stuff. Interesting!
Paul wanted to breed pink and green spotted snakes and we’ve been paying close attention to listings and people’s experiences. It seems there’s a reason no one has produced them yet…those genes don’t play well with palmetto.
Congratulations on a beautiful clutch, @jacobhyde ! You’ve got some gorgeous adults. I’ve been a big fan of Caramel things since I started working with corns.
We’ll be able to say a bit more about your babies after they shed their baby egg skin. I will say that #10 is absolutely Caramel. #2 looks likely Caramel, but I can’t tell for sure. It’s brightened from the Masque and het Palmetto. On my screen there’s a hint of red, but that may be my screen. If after it sheds, you can see any red tones then it’s not Caramel.
I really like the blotchy Palmettos, btw. Very pretty babies!
Ok as a side note I love the ring on your thumb! ![]()
Thank you! The big black and silver one is a celestial ring, and the smaller one is an ouroboros ring! I’ve got rings on both my thumbs and ring fingers, most space/celestial themed. The one on my other thumb is a ring I designed with orange and dark brown to represent Fall and Halloween!
The rings are quite unique, very different from the norm! I like jewelry pieces like that! ![]()
I like interesting jewelry and love rings myself. But I can’t wear one on my thumb, no way. Mine thumb joints have quite an angle lol.
Any updates on the babies, @jacobhyde?
Oh my dear friend! That looks painful!!!
Lol sorry, didn’t mean to horrify anybody. It’s not painful. That’s just the way my thumbs are made. I remember being told as a kid that I had “hitch-hiker’s thumbs.”
They look different, but they work just fine.
Hah. Not grounds for a cull!
Oh my goodness, you made me laugh until it just hurts!
One more toe than Fred Flinstone!
. Piggy back toe! Every time I would go to a sleepover when I was a kid my feet caused lots of laughter!
Ok no more disgusting digressing feet chatter/pics!
