Future Breeding ball pythons

I have a male pastel bamboo pewter and a male pastel cinnamon lesser yellow belly het scaleless. Any suggestions on what I should pair these boys up with? Not looking to breed until next year or so, so l’m fine with purchasing hatchlings. Thanks!!

As you decide what you would like to do, try plugging the genes from each male into the search feature here on MM. Select “Any” and don’t exclude any genes, unless you are sure you do not want to work with that particular gene. See what comes up and then if you find a combination that is really appealing, search for an available female with the complimentary set of genes to your male, that could produce the animal you found. Do that with both males and that should put you on a good path.

You stated you wont be breeding until next year. Since you need females, just know that hatchlings will take approximately 3 years to reach a maturity level for breeding. When it comes to breeding, it’s a marathon, not a sprint. Best of luck.

So, general warnings first.
-You’ll want to look for a snake that has some of those genes and see what combos you like. If there’s something that catches your eye, that could be a consideration. Breed what you want, not what someone tells you too because of an algorithm.
-The market is very oversaturated. So planning for the future is good. But the market may still be a mess then and babies can be difficult to sell.
-Be ready for emergencies. I had an eggbinding scare myself this year. There’s also risks of prolapse or other issues in hatchlings.

That said…
Good on you for wanting to ask now and know it’s still a bit off beforehand.

Personally, I try to never produce a normal in my clutches. So I would recommend looking for a female that is a visual recessive of some kind or an allelic combo. That way every baby has at least one gene.

BELs can be great, but difficult to ID with the other genes. You would also probably want to avoid creating a BEL albino or pied as they can be born with micro eyes or no eyes.
Cinny and Blk pastel can look great but the super versions can have issues with kinking or facial deformities. Enchi is an allelic gene I think looks great with BEL combos as well and no risks.
The scaleless head… I still think the BP community is waiting to see if female scaleless can reproduce. And the care for them can be difficult sometimes because of the skin. So it’s a bit of a big question mark on if you would want to produce them.
