I’ll give petco a check tomorrow, if they don’t have them I’ll order them online. I just didn’t know how long to wait before I got concerned honestly
Tbh I don’t either so I’m just trying to come up with some suggestions while you’re waiting for an answer……
I appreciate it Caron! we’ll get it eating sooner or later!
Yup! You need to name him “Pokie”!
. Because he is taking forever to eat!
Dont start them on insects before CGD it might make it harder to get them on the diet Only feed a tiny drop at a time, and give them space. I only feed mine every 2-3 days. Ive had a baby that only ate once during the first month, it started eating well after a month and didn’t lose any weight or anything, so no need to worry if it takes a little while
That makes sense!
How’s the bean doing now?
Sometimes you don’t notice a lot missing if you’re filling up bowl say,
Smear a layer over a lid if that makes sense, then you can watch what’s eaten better. X
I’m using a little feeding ledge with a bottle cap size feeding cup, and I usually fill less than half. I haven’t been able to tell, and I really don’t see any poop; but I don’t really know how small baby gecko poop is lol. I’ve just been leaving it be; not trying to hold it or anything until I’m sure it’s eating
An updated photo of the one that’s out and still unsure how much it’s eating. It doesn’t look too skinny, so I’m assuming it’s eating something, just not enough for me to be able to tell. It’s definitely been exploring more at night lately.
I’ve got another egg that should be hatching any day now, if it follows the same timeline as the first egg, and then also, found two more eggs on Sunday! Which means she’s laid…. 8 eggs total now? 1 of the new ones might be infertile, but I’ll hold off on that verdict until it clearly goes bad.
Ignore all the writing on the deli cup, it’s the only pic I have of the eggs currently!
Holy cow Nathan! Your house is going to be Gecko central! I am sure your little guy is eating but as tiny as he is he probably only takes a couple of licks at a time so it doesn’t even make an indentation in the food. I saw my little chameleon gecko take a couple licks a few days ago!
I’ve been really struggling to refrain from getting him/her out to hold it, because I want to make sure they’re eating and happy. I was just happy to see it out and about!
Update…. Egg 2 was hatching today! Came home after a long evening of Costco shopping, and decided to check. He/she hasn’t even gotten 100% of the way out, but here they are!
Oh my goodness how precious! New life is so wonderful! Congratulations again poppa!
Thank you! It’s crazy how tiny they are. Now I gotta build out the enclosures for my crested geckos we picked up so I can get them out of the temporary/holding tubs and get this baby in there. I should have 2 more in a month, and another 1 in 60 ish days.
And the collection keeps growing…… I love it!
Update…. I think I lost three eggs that were incubating. Not sure what happened. They did see some higher temps, like 81 or so while I was out of town, but I also think part of it is due to the second hatchling I have literally kicked the eggs in the cup when he came out. Feisty little one at that!
But on another note. The two small ones are growing like weeds, and echo dropped two new eggs for me yesterday!
Awwww! Sorry about the eggs but at least you have some replacements! Fingers crossed for successful hatching Nathan!
