Gravid Eastern Indigo! Excited for 2022 Babies

We are excited to announce that our female Eastern Indigo, Roulette is confirmed gravid! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: The sire, Blackjack (pictured left), is an incredibly intelligent snake, notorious for his ability to solve advanced food puzzles designed for dogs. We are very curious to see if his intelligence will carry over into his offspring!

While we have a ways to go until babies are hatching, we are hopeful for the near future for these two beautiful snakes! :snake::purple_heart:

It can vary a bit of course, but usually between 6-10 eggs, sometimes a little more or a little less

Awesome! How long are they typically gravid and how long do the eggs take to hatch? Looking forward to baby pics!

They lay about 20 days after their pre-lay shed and their eggs incubate for quite a while, usually a little over 100 days. Breeding Drymarchon is a year-long endeavor from the time you prepare to breed them until the babies are hatched out, but it is beyond worth it for those passionate about the species!
