Hi there! Just wanted to drop a line. I’m not sure how active I’ll be on here, but from the posts I’m seeing, it appears to be more…civilized than Reddit.
That said, I’ve got six herps under my watch now:
- Indigo Pikachu Jr (leopard gecko, roughly 9 months old)
- LouLou Iris (tokay gecko, one year old)
- Kenneth (gargoyle gecko, roughly three years old)
- Fig (crested gecko, almost a year old)
- Galadriel (bearded dragon, 3 months old)
- Bella (ball python, almost 6 years old)
I won’t share photos of all of 'em, but I figure sharing the tokay is worth it, since I know taming them down is a big deal for some people.
Cheers!

Welcome! That’s a cool gecko.
Yeah, it’s definitely a more polite crowd here than Reddit. Fewer Care Sheet Crusaders.

See, and that’s the thing. I totally understand the importance of care sheets. I’m a software developer by trade, so trust me: I try to consult as many resources (or in my world, documentation) as possible. The problem being is, as we all know, it’s hard to get people to agree on husbandry, but that doesn’t mean we need to resort to abuse accusations.
And thanks! She’s a riot. It took her a few months to calm down, but she’s a special gal.

I always say: don’t let animal welfare be your excuse for abusing humans.
