I’m unsure if I’m accidentally under feeding my snake

Working on the temp control stuff, I have one temperature controller thing that turns the heat lamp on when bellow 80°F and I’ve been limiting the AC in ma room so she’s not too cold. I have been assuming that you all have just been letting me know/trying to teach the temperature stuff, not being argumentative or aggressive about it. Yall just letting me know this stuff because I asked about some of her health stuff and temperature helps with that. I’ve known since I was small that reptiles need warmth because they can’t make their own because they’re cold blooded. Not used to exact temperatures they need, (no one nearby has any pet snakes or anything), but they need it warmer than I might like it.

She’s always been eating for me (even bit my finger cuz it smelled like food lol) and every shed has been one complete shed. She hasn’t shown any signs of any being wrong physically that I’ve noticed, and when I do I will probably be asking here and taking her to a vet as soon as I can go (or afford). Velvette is my lil snek baby and I want what’s best for her, and I’d hope people commenting here want the same. :>

We do, we do, and

this as well!

There are a lot of online communities where the attitudes are snippy and aggressive and very argumentative. You won’t find that here. I truly think that this is the most respectful online animal community out there. We care about the animals, and we care about the humans, too. We are glad that you found us.

I agree. And there isn’t some huge, overt effort on the admins’ part to maintain the respectful atmosphere. It really is the exception to the rule for online reptile hobby spaces.

Yup I was assuming everyone was just trying to be informative, very appreciative of that :>

Currently working on managing her new terrarium at my aunt’s house (babysitting her kids for the summer). Her new one (120 gallon) is a lot bigger than her old one (pretty sure it was 40 gallon) but regulating things has been going good. The ac in my aunt’s place likes fighting with Velvette’s heating stuff lol (the heating stuff is winning TvT). I probably need more decorations for her to hide in or increase the heat and stuff because she does like staying burried.

Currently she looks a lot more like that loaf in those earlier example pics. I’d take a pic but she’s burrowed under all her substrate at the moment, and I don’t want to dig her up. (Gotta cut my nails cuz the substrate likes getting under them). I’ll take a pic before I feed her tomorrow.
