I agree, not a flame
Infact I’d agree extreme too. Just seen new pics.
With reverse pinning it’s actually base colour being pushed up to the top. Seen a lot with tiger, hence the tiger trait present also!
So she’s a harlequin partial pin with reverse pinning?
Reverse pinning is not base colour but visual tigering - here’s one of my boys with red tigering where it’s really obvious that it isn’t the base. The foundation genetics guide also has an example under “Reverse Pinstriping” which actually looks similar to this one (:
Whether you call it a flame or a harlequin doesn’t matter too much since genetically they’re pretty much identical, it’s just about expression and it differs a bit from person to person how much/little pattern is required for either.
Harlequin has pattern on the limbs, flames do not… So not quite the same
I mean most guides i’ve seen say that they have little to no pattern, or subtle pattern on lateral and limbs, like Morphpedia, Foundation Genetics, and morphguides like Fringemorphs, Fluffydragons, TheGeckoGeek… Generally I tend to go with what FG says, since it’s the most thorough one
Extreme harlequin reverse pin, pin dash with tiger.
Flames and dorsal patterning only too. Rest should be clean
@foxreptile ? X
I’m so lost with this conversation! I’m having one of those days
Okay, while I agree flames can have minimal markings on the limbs… The definition being so minimal that it is barely seen.
I do not believe the yellow on this Gecko is the base colour as it has too much of the darker colouration.
Have we considered this gecko being a brindlequin?
I feel you, discussing crestie morphs often turns into a mess Super interesting to hear people’s perspectives though. Brindlequins and extremes can be super hard to tell apart especially without lineage, but look at all of your examples - they have grey above their front limbs. For some reason pattern just doesn’t show there so that’s a way to tell their base if you’re unsure, according to the FG guide. A brindlequin is typically a yellow-based gecko with a lot of visual tigering, so i definitely agree on that
All of this is very helpful for me, I’ve already learned so much about different morphs and the way they show!!
From looking at others she looks like a brindlequin or just a tiger but either way I’m please to have some information on what her morph is, y’all are all very helpful!!
Check out the foundation genetics guide i linked if you wanna learn more for yourself! But yeah she could definitely be considered a brindlequin imo😊
Yeah foundation genetics is a huge development when it comes to morph and traits.
I’m due another re read.
I’m curious about the reverse showing on most pinstripes, I have a few and haven’t noticed it on most, so I’m so going to pester the Geckos later some have the Drippy trait & likely won’t show
But I’m glad we’ve managed to help a little… Despite my initial thoughts, I’m voting brindlequin for now, but would love pics when it’s grown up to see if I still agree.
I’m really glad we’ve all been able to discuss difference of opinions while remaining respectful of each others thoughts. Reminds me why I’m on here and no where else
Brindlequin and tigerquin are just Harley with tiger. So you can say that but I like saying it all haha, I just am not keep on that term though.
So extreme harlequin tiger pin dash, with reverse pinning. Reverse pinning is when base pattern and tiger fight against eachother and tiger loses
Like yours having it x
Pm all of mine do on some of them it’s super subtle and thin though, and borderline impossible to see when fired up
