In my opinion, you also need a way to control temperature (thermostat) and a way to measure it (ideally a temp gun).

Sometimes people are just set in their ways and there is no changing them and sometimes you just have to accept it. The reptile hobby will always be here for you to take part in later on and it’s not like the hobby is going anywhere, if anything the hobby is actually growing. So if your parents say no then just accept it if there is no convincing her and when you get your own place you can have as many animals as you want and in the meantime just think about and research which animals you want.
