Pairing was Mojave Inferno x Bumblebee possible Mojave
I had a baby crawl out that Im pretty confident is a
Pearl but shouldn’t be possible with this pairing unless my female also has Hidden gene woma. Can I please get feed back on what others think? Im listing pics of parents and baby. IT only survived a few hours unfortunately. I have another white baby still in the egg but may be super Mojave plus on that one hopefully.
Ok so … you said the paring Mojave inferno (Mojave yb HGWG Pastel) to a bumblebee (pastel spider) … you literally paired hgw and spider together. This is likely the issue not that your very normal looking bumblebee has hgw also. Also because it doesn’t look completely developed, and obviously didn’t have a first shed a lot of color isn’t there. They gain a lot of color after first shed. It looks to be a super pastel hgw spider poss yb and mojo. But there is no way to know for certain.
Okay, I do know there have been several healthy spider/ hidden gene woma combos produced at this point so I didn’t think its would be an issue but that is a possibility. I just figured that if it was a super mojo plus everything else the striping would not be the honey color it is. The lesser/mojo Bumblebee I produced had a faint pattern but really you need a black light to see the pattern visually.
Although a few viable spider hgw have been produced it’s generally looked at like a train wreck to pair them. Definitely not one I would personally recommend repeating.
Oh I most definitely will not do it again. He will not be paired to any of the known leathal or wobble genes at all anymore. Lesson learned. It isnt worth it.
Its good you are willing to learn, no offence, I have changed a lot of my ideas since posting here. Being willing to learn for anyone is a wonderful trate and meant as a compliment.
No one knows everything… I have made many mistakes more than most
Anyway, I saw your new to the forums, so welcome, keep posting confidently and learning
This is the best place to do that.
Just a positive update to this clutch. Last baby out seems to be to doing well though it does have a wobble when handling it seems. It was weak when it was first making its way out and got stronger each day. I believe it is at least super Mojave super pastel spider poss hgw though I hope hgw is not present so it has the best chances to thrive. Can see a slight pattern which Im sure will be more noticeable once shed but its hard to catch on camera.
