Yes I do and yes it does.
I will try and get some pics of my setup if anyone is interested and also a screenshot of my data logger output

Converted wine cooler, heat tape along the back, storage bin with moisture gasket, water, light defuser, thermostat, water bottles to help control heat.
I’d love to see it!
My first 6 clutches last year.
My first attempt at an incubator didn’t work properly so I stuck all the eggs in racks with various temperatures depending if at the back or the front.
Plastic boxes with a little hole, no press and seal.
over saturated substrates (some vermiculite and others perlite) but egg crate thing so the eggs were dry.
5 clutches were fine, every egg hatched. 1 clutch was infertile and didn’t make it.
I’m not convinced its all so critical as long as temperatures are reasonable, humidity is high enough and the eggs don’t sit in water.
Really basic all things equal, but does a great job
And here is the data from the logger I keep in there. That sharp down drop in the last peak is from when I opened it last night for the pics. The cyclic nature on mine is because I have the heaters on a timer that shuts off overnight.
I was extremely lucky and able to purchase a brand new commercial kitchen display cooler for $200 from a going out of business sale. It is 4 feet long by 2 feet deep and 2 feet wide. I set it up so that the sliding doors are facing up and ran heat tape (connected to a herpstat) along the bottom. It is a BEAST but holds temperatures and humidity beautifully. Hopefully I will have my first clutch later this year and can try it out ![]()
Got any pics? So am I understanding correctly you basically laid it on its back?
I can try to remember to take some photos this evening
I laid it on it’s back as you said. Normally the sliding doors would be facing forward so that you could open and grab a cooler item. I oriented the sliding doors facing upwards instead as it is easier to get in and out of.
