Hi everyone! This is my second thread. When we bought this male, the description said “pinstripe banana orange dream enchi het pied.” But this spot is bothering me. I’m curious if it’s a visual pied or a birthmark. P.S. We’ll breed him anyway, and we’ll see what happens, but I’m just curious right now.

It’s called a ringer. It’s common with het pied, but can still occur without piebald. Some genes like champagne or sandblast and cinnamon can make ringers more extreme and look almost like a visual piebald.
Here’s an extreme example. If this snake was visual piebald she would be pure white. But the het pied reacts to the other genes to bring out all that white.
Either way you have a really bright looking boy. Great combo of colors there.

It may be a ringer or, probably, a paradox. I have a black pastel banana that has a weird white patch just like yours. I’ll see if I can get a pic.
Thats whats going on with my Cinnamon Sugar YB girl Maki, she has some mild white creeping up the sides of her belly down the lower 3rd of her body… not sure if thats the Sugar trait causing that or if its just some unusual white marking.
I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s the cinny sugar doing it. Both genes can throw nice ringers with het pied, so I wouldn’t be surprised if combined those two also make that similar spike
