Hoping to get a little guidance on this adorable little fella. I’m semi-experienced with reptiles but it’s been several years since I kept any snakes. Got this guy from a lady who’s moving and can’t bring any pets and I’m struggling to figure out what morph(s) it might be.
I brought him to a local breeder to pick up some rat pups and he wasn’t entirely sure what morphs might be involved, either. He mentioned pastels, enchis, and black head morphs as a starting point to research, but wasn’t able to nail it down. Unfortunately, the previous owner has no idea about the parents.
And I did take the rat out right after I snapped that pic. I know better than to leave a live rat alone with a snake but I found that picture hilarious and had to share it with my son who also loves snakes. This snake was brought up on live rat pups, so I’ll have to adapt to feeding live until I can hopefully get him to take F/T. Now I have to figure out how to keep a rat healthy until he actually feels like eating again!
I appreciate the feedback! And it very well might be a female. The previous owner said it was male but seemed unsure about most questions I asked about it. I never bred any of the snakes I kept in the past, so sexing them is a foreign concept to me. I’ll get him/her checked out by a vet soon and ask them to determine the sex for me.
