Meet William Williamsi and the Colons

This is William the williamsi and his friends the colons (4 Adults and we have babies in the broms, should be coming out soon!)
We bred him ourselves, dad passed couple years back and mum was given to a friend.
We will be getting William a gf eventually!
But here he is staring and judging you. He’s lucky he’s pretty!

What is he exactly?

Williams blue cave geckos are so pretty. Is it only the males that have the bright blue colouration or is it both?

He’s a Williamsi. Lygodactylus williamsi

Females are more of a green colour. Only males end up bright blue!

Thank you, figured that would be the case lol.

I think this is finally a gecko other than the geico gecko that I may take a liking to. Thanks for showing me this species @ghoulishcresties. I’m gonna look these up.

He’s a good boy! Can’t wait to find him a girlfriend!
He jumped out onto the other half earlier

You have a lot to choose from with frog/day vivs! Even with the more delicate plants you know they’ll be ok!

Once I have some free time I should start looking around and buying plants. I was also wondering how I would get a 1.1 pair. Is there any way to set up temporary enclosures for the babies and once they mature I can sell the ones I don’t need?

Should be breeders by you? It’s hard to get a female here atm! (Uk)
The females stick their eggs so you shouldn’t really move, unless you cut the leaves of the plants they lay on, or take out the bamboo tubing if using that etc. But be careful not to move the position they’re in at all!
With our boy above, we actually hatched him. His dad passed and his mum was given to a friend as wasn’t happy after he passed bless her, so she joined a big group.
We just found him one day in the viv roaming about!

There’s breeders except none of them sell sexed geckos.
I was planning on buying some (3-4 depending on price) unsexed geckos and then once I can sex them sell the ones that I don’t need for my tank.

Oh bummer!
You’ll know the difference easily! The males become bright blue and the females are an olive green colour

Day geckos and frogs, huh? They can cohabitate?

With the right enclosure, yes. I’m working on an enclosure for Williamsi geckos and Azureus Dyeing dart frogs. @ghoulishcresties has a lot of experience and knowledge with it and I got a lot of information from her.

Oh yes!
Been doing it for years now, as soon as lots of plants and food they don’t compete at all! Infact they usually eat together!
Williamsi has been with all sorts of frogs now! Big and small
The other half can’t decide haha so we now have colons! Pretty cool though and have 2 babies

So we have an 18x18x25 bio set up for a day gecko. We do an outdoor education program and the animals that we have are a huge part of it. And the mascot is a giant day gecko. So we have to get one.

My wife said we do,

And if I can stick a few frogs in there that would be great. Which frogs would work the best, in your educated opinion?

Oh wow that sounds Amazing!

Well ofcourse you need one, shes right!

I’m looking into getting a pair myself actually! They’re Amazing geckos!
And I’ll probably have mine along with Tincs as they’re a big frog, Specifically Tumucumaque as I think they’re lovely looking! (You may like them) there’s obviously a lot of different types!
But you could have terribilis also as another big type. Those are the 2 I’d say would work best in with one.
