Mexican hognose clutch

So interesting outcome! This was the first to hatch! Has anyone seen a design like this before? Going to continue to pair the parents in the upcoming year but this was only showing in one out of seven, though another had something similar going on

Very cool! I don’t see too many people working with Mexican. I have seen some pattern anomalies in westerns that could be attributed to factors during incubation. That’s merely a theory from observations.
It will be interesting to see if your pair has similar results next season.

The more obvious zebra design did come from a small weird egg that had a slight pinch to it, connected to another egg by the time i collected them! So many it could have been that? Guess we will see next season!

I could yammer all day about this species, theyre my favorite next to southern hognoses! Cute little guys with extra attitude that stay fairly small compared to westerns, and the small changes different locales have is super cool
