No prep! It’s very finely processed. You can put a hatchling in it. It’s way better than the aspen that the big box stores carry. You will be pleased! It goes from bag to enclosure. Easy peasy!
@dolls_sweet_exoticsss Depending on the store, you might have to ask for it because at my TSC this bedding is kept in the back and not on the floor, probably because the bags are so large…
Just an FYI….
Alright thanks caron and Caryl for the help!
is It this the correct bedding? its on their website
I wish my local TS had that, its not even available for shipping to my store ![]()
If I need Aspen I have to pay $20+ for a bag a quarter the size of that horse bedding from the big box pet store.
Yes ma’am! 7 bucks and change!
That’s too bad! One bag lasts me for several months!
Great! alrighty I’ll add that to my list! thanks for the help!
That’s what all of us are here for! ![]()
Drying this nice piece of fake wood (it’s not real wood) by the garden window! Someone whose two beardies passed away gave me some decor and might even give me their whole 40-gallon tank for free. They got their beardies from PetSmart, which is probably why it’s a 40-gallon. They even gave me a 10-gallon for free! I just washed this piece with Dawn dish soap and hot water, scrubbing everything off with a toothbrush. If you guys have more cleaning tips for the tanks and decor, please let me know!
That’s a very pretty piece of fake wood!!! ![]()
Hot water + white vinegar does wonders for cleaning glass spotless if you ever have any issues with hard water stains! It has mild disinfecting properties as well but it has to sit longer to work.
It’s my go-to for cleaning display terrariums when the water mistings start building up on the sides.
I use that as well!
Great ok I will do that when I clean the enclosures!
This person is so kind!! look how much goodies we got!
what do you guys think I should use for the hognose snake, what stuff I should pass not use or give to my other reptiles(my Leo and beardie)?
and recommendations for cleaning some these things!? some Nice real wood a background and some more enclousres in the car I might need to get more reptiles soon ![]()

Cricket keepers:
hides x 2:
sticks x2
bowl x2
bowl x2
and there’s more enclosures In the car a 10 gallon, a 20-40 gallon taller one? 40 gallons coming( possibly), enclosure background, small lighting things wow it feels like christmas! there’s like 2 of everything!
Used equipment can be iffy. Equipment used by animals that died is scary. I personally don’t take in any used equipment or decor.
Minimally, a bleach disinfection to kill viruses (5 parts Chlorox in 15 parts water, 10 minutes contact time), then rinsed, then H2O2 (6%, 10 minutes contact time) to inactivate crypto cysts would be prudent.
Thanks so much! That’s what gets me nervous too the fact another reptile touched it
! do have vinegar, bleach, hot water, dawn dish soap anything else i should use, any specific reptile cleaner brands that remove bacteria you know of and how to use it?
Chlorine bleach and hydrogen peroxide, in the solutions and contact times I noted above. ![]()
Alright thanks!
