Yes boa can and do use there tails as a lure. I had a wild caught Guyana boa many years ago do this when I would take her outside sometimes.

My Dumerils does it to me sometimes when she is hungry… Ive also have a sand boa that does it… & one of my Solomons has done it as well. All food response

It was a BCI. I would have just said yes, but most people only call true BCC’s red tail boas.

Only really old work boas in enygrus are know for luring. They have yellow tail ends as juveniles as a lure. This is usually lost in adults. This isn’t a behaviour of imperator or constrictor.

I’ve had many different species of boa do the same thing, it really isn’t a big deal and will subside after months of handling in my experience.
