So this lil one was a new addition⦠until we got it and realised it has spots, mostly red but black too⦠which from pics from the breeder you couldnāt see any, possibly 1 but looked like mud⦠This is why adds should have all traits in them Sheās said sheād update all others⦠As the pics werenāt great and was always fired you couldnāt see any spots at all.
So itās a bloody shame. But the coverage is insane. So weāve been going back and forward for ages trying to work out if we should keep or not⦠Was also born September 2021 so very small for age too.
Woah!
What morph is it? It looks amazing!
The coverage is amazing such a shame about the dal spots!!
He/she is an extreme tricolour with lots of high coverage. Shame about the spots though
Ugh I know right!
gets a rubber
Lol my American mind was like what is a rubber . I get that it is an eraser
.
Hahaha yeah that! I forget people have different names for things.
OMG without the spot that gecko would be insane! If it was me, Iād honestly keep the gecko until gets bigger, if more spots appear then move on, if not then work out who you could put her too in order to try to make one without the spot.
Just a suggestion
That so gorgeous! the pattern is amazing! <3
The male would be Haise I think if paired. (And if stays female)
Itās a hard decision I will say
As coverage is what we want but the spots arenāt⦠need her to get to a good size too as sheās very small for ageā¦
Hopefully he/she will have a growth spurt soon
Well, sheās a pretty little thing for sure. I donāt know enough about how geckosā traits may interact to have an intelligent gecko-based thought on whether to hold onto this one and hope to breed out the unwanted Dal spots. I would be very frustrated about having bought one with a trait I didnāt want because of an unclear ad.
For me? Time and space are define considerations in deciding who to keep or add. There is: A. a list of traits I am excited to work with and actively seek; B. a list of traits I specifically donāt want to work with. Then thereās: C. the big swath of traits which are neither. I donāt pass on an animal whoās got them but theyāre not part of my projects per se. If the spots fall into category C, Iād grow the animal for a while and consider while she grows. But I personally wouldnāt keep her if they fall in category B. Thereās just not enough of me to go around.
But thatās my calculus for my collection. Yours may be totally different, which is of course perfectly fine.
I like this thinking
Trouble is, itās hard to say goodbye & when youāve got all excited to get the gecko just to find out itās got that trait u really donāt want, itās very disappointing!
Itās so hard as u feel disappointed, but at the same time, the gecko is awesome
Itās soooo cute
I donāt keep NC geckoās, but as this one is adorable and to me a single gecko takes pretty low amount of space compared to the large boas and pythons I work with, my instinct is āwhatās one gecko extra?ā Lol, even if I didnāt breed them, I like em. Sometimes thatās enough, too. (Hence why I have a Leo Gecko just for fun lol)
@ghoulishcresties beautiful! So im new obviously and just curious, what is the reason for not wanting dalmatian spots? Is it just a preference thing or does that trait affect something? Im only curious as I just bought 19 dalmatians from a breeder on MM that was moving.
So with other traits itās not desirable to some.
If she was just an extreme tricolour she wouldāve been Amazing!! But with spots then Iād of had to work out and it wouldāve taken many gens and even then still a risk of popping up.
Just dals are fine! What you want really
I thought he was trying to keep him from breeding
Omg
Haha noooo. Brilliant though
Iām a she too So many assume Iām a he online with no face pic haha.
I almost never get it right in line. I apologize for now and when I do it again in a week.
