PotentiallyFatal bite

As some of you may know, my uncle raises and cares for venomous reptiles like cobras. He has recently bought a green mamba, and it was gravid. It laid eggs without his knowledge and one of the babies bit him, and now he is in the hospital. I personally hope he makes it, for the sake of the animals.

Oh wow. I take it she laid the eggs in some hidden corner of her enclosure where he missed them?
That’s some really rough luck. Like her laying viable eggs in his care and then incubating fully is great. But the surprise and bite is definitely not how I would hope to find out. That is definitely unexpected and not much could have been done.

I hope that they were able to get supportive care fast enough. I’m sorry that you are going through this.

Oh no thats really terrible to hear…

I can’t imagine, those are just really unfortunate circumstances to get tied up into. I hope for both the sake of your relative and the animals that he can pull through alright

That must’ve been really traumatic to learn of, I’m so sorry.

It takes some serious mental toughness to work with any of the Dendroaspis. Baby or otherwise. Stand fast, your uncle will appreciate your support.

So sorry to hear about your uncle, I’ll keep him in my thoughts. That’s a crazy situation. Mambas are no joke, though in this situation, it could have been almost any species. You can’t watch out for animals you don’t even know are in the enclosure. That’s wild.

How’s Uncle?

He’s getting better, but not able to do much for a few months. The babies are safe and all located, so it is over. He’s in a wheelchair, but will recover.
