(Edit): The reason why I do not want to sell snakes that are eating Live prey (pinky mice in this case) is because I know not everyone will have access to live pinky mice and I do not want to risk sending my snakes to their new home not being able to accept f/t from their new owner.

I have a clutch of Brooks’ Kingsnakes that I want to advertise on MM but I do not want to sell yet due to them eating live and I’m wanting to start them on F/T before they go to new homes.

I currently have them listed as “Not Ready” on maturity for the reason above and “Not For Sale” on availability… I was wondering if I change them to “For Sale” but keep their maturity at “Not Ready” will people be still be able to inquire for them? Should I just disclose in the ad description that they aren’t ready to go to new homes until they are eating F/T? Is this even something thats allowed?

Just putting this here to ask before I act too quickly on it and get in trouble for doing it.

-I do NOT want to nor intend to sell animals that I feel are not ready to go, I just want to start up on advertising so I can have interested customers by the time they are ready.- TIA

You’ve got a free account currently, so you cannot have “Not Ready” animals listed as for sale as this requires a basic membership level or higher. If you were to upgrade, then you could list them as such and people could inquire. There’s an entire section about this on the support page, it can be found here:

If upgrading isn’t an option, you can list them as having a diet of live mice. Then in the description and any correspondence with would be buyers, state that the animal will not be shipped until it is eating f/t. However, this may cause issues as some folks might not understand why you won’t just ship as long as the animal is feeding regularly.

Thank you! I only have the free membership as of now because I simply didn’t have that much to sell to be paying the monthly membership fee prior. But with my babies eating regularly I will be changing that soon so I can list them on ads.

Don’t forget that some people feed live as opposed to ft anyway….
