Scorpion ID, southern California, Riverside County

These two were caught in southern California. I initially thought they were swollen tail scorpions. But the tails are very small. Any thoughts on their ID? The area I was searching was loaded with these.

My guess is California swollen-stinger scorpion, Anuroctonus pococki, maybe just a variation of this particular locality.

I’m guessing it’s female.

Sorry for such a late response but it definitely looks like a Swollen Stinger. You’re also correct, it looks like a female for sure. Males have a distinct bulbous gland on the telson, right at the base of the aculeus (the stinger needle). Females Have a much smaller, teardrop shaped telson without that extra inflation. Great find!
