If any wild reptiles or amphibians have interacted with the branches prior to them being collected by a human, you run the risk of transmitting disease to your pet. There could also be bugs poisonous to your pet, or bugs with parasites. You could also get beneficial creatures such as isopods but the risk isn’t really worth the reward in my opinion
