Tiniest bump on baby boa? Imagining things?

Hi! So I’m new here but have no idea where else to ask lol.

Just got a baby dwarf boa. Eats well, explores, 4x2x2, humidity and temperature is all in range.

Today I had him out and this is not something a normal person would notice I think. Could only get this pic angled in the right light. I think it’s just a few rough scales maybe. I have to really, really pay attention and rub my finger over it multiple times to even tell there’s anything there.

I was just worried it’s something forming? Like an abscess? He does roughouse around in his enclosure sometimes. Or am I just driving myself crazy as a new paranoid owner? lol thanks!

Is the lump solid or soft? Does it move with the skin or does the skin move over it when you rub your finger over it?

If you feed live the chances of it being an abcess from a rodent bite are high. Otherwise I can’t say much else about it unfortunately.

(Edit): there’s also a chance it could just be muscle, Boas are very muscular snakes and when my girl wraps around something or really puts effort into moving the muscle under her skin can appear a little “bumpy” lol

It feels like it moves with the skin and its kinda more soft? Its literally so small i can barely tell. It would suck if this is anything serious as hes only a few months old. I definitely dont feed live either.

Oh and sometimes it just seems to disappear depending on how he moves. Idk if he just gave himself some swelling or something somehow

The best I can say is keep an eye on it if you can and see if it ends up getting larger.
Next step from that is getting ahold of a vet that will work with and knows how to work with exotic pets if it does end up becoming more of a noticeable problem.

It turned out to just be a muscle that sometimes just appears depending on how he moves and totally disappears most of the time, like very few other ‘bumpy’ muscle spots. I feel really stupid now lol
Thanks for the help!
