Another thing I just thought of the other day when I was setting up an enclosure, when you get substrate in the drain and it gets stuck on the first layer of filtration (usually a few pieces of plastic so large pieces can’t pass) and you can’t get it out you can either use toothpicks to get it out or use a high powered water pick to push it through the filtration and down the drain.
