I got lentil about a week ago from a pet store that was closing down, she is a female, her eyes are grey with kind of orange or red veins, it’s kind of hard to see in the pictures, idk anything about her history…
Looks like a healthy pet quality normal.
Ok, thanks. Can the normals have the silver eyes with red veins? It’s cool to know what they are
Yeah they can vary quite a bit sometimes.
Also, when I say pet quality normal… These are leopard geckos that years ago would be considered ‘high yellow’. But over the years since breeders worked on producing so brighter and crazier looking lines of tangerines and more color into them, this has become what ‘normal’ looks like as far as what is sold wholesale to pet stores and such.
The line breeding for color can also affect the appearance of the eyes. So if you compare what I’m calling pet quality normal to a wild type/normal, they can appear very different. The eyes can look darker along with the overall look of the gecko as well.
Hope that helps!
That’s really interesting! Thanks so much for answering my questions
No problem!
There’s a few regulars here that worked with Leo’s, so if you have any other questions usually one of us can get back to you pretty quick. =)
Ok :), that’s kinda nice, I’m glad I found this site, it’s really great
