I love the textured look she has!
Congrats on the accidental auction win! I had that happen over the winter with a killer boa. I just happened to check the boa auctions that afternoon and the bids were still pretty low with only 7-ish mins left, so I made bid. I was pretty confident someone would outbid me but that never happened. Got a crazy good deal on her.
I shared this over in the boa thread yesterday but I figured I’d share it over here also. This girl arrived yesterday. She’s a 2020 VPI Aztec het Anery. She’s a big girl with a really nice pink head and a bunch of pink down her sides. She was pretty flighty during unboxing but not defensive at all. She’s got a date this fall with my Hypo het VPI/Anery/Leopard male!

Well turn me upside down and paint me blue! We have missed you Nathan! Glad you are back! Congratulations on a fantastic accidental win! That girl is a looker Nathan! Great job on that one!
I definitely can see the pink on that big girl’s head! She is absolutely stunning Eric! And so glad to be able to put a face (handsome btw) with a name! I think with that pairing “the future’s so bright ya gotta wear shades….”
Thanks Caron! Lookin’ forward to the fall!
Sweet little Fay from Caryl/BrightHope Snakes. Fay is showing off her perfect shed.
Also a better picture of Shatto without the bulge.
I found this little Emerald Swift at my mom and pop pet store. In addition to his bright green body he has a beautiful blue belly. I have an order in for a female. Supposedly they breed fairly easily so I am going to see if this is true. They are live bearers so I don’t have to worry about incubating eggs. I already have a couple of people asking for a baby. Their litters are generally 4 to 5 babies, totally manageable. I plan to gift them to people and I am positive my pet store will take them as well.
Emerald Swifts do not have a very long life span unfortunately but if taken care of properly they can live at least 5 years if not a few years longer. There are not many CB available for some reason. This little guy is wild caught and to my knowledge the first wild caught animal I have ever owned. To my knowledge.
Anyhoo, I just wanted to share this cute little fella. He’s starting to move around his enclosure more. Emerald Swifts are not meant to be a hands on pet but I think they’re pretty cool anyway. I’m trying to get him to accept a cricket or a meal worm from tongs. I think we’ll get there. He
seems to be fairly chilled out and not spooked easily. I can stroke his back and he doesn’t budge!
I love him!! I was going to ask you if he had a blue belly. The local fence swifts we have also have patches of bright blue on their bellies, and usually a patch of blue underneath their throat. But they’re not such a gorgeous shade of green like the emeralds!!
Thanks Jennifer! I heard that they look like fence lizards but I have never seen one so I can’t compare them. I have his setup on point as far as heat and humidity but I need to add a couple of branches or perches for him. I really hope he survives the stress of being pulled from his natural habitat and placed in an enclosure. I will feel better when I see him eat.
