So i have two female mojave black pastels. What would you breed to them for something fun in the future?
I am also starting a leopard clown project. I have several het clown females, and a russo clown male and a pastel leopard clown poss phantom male. Anything else fun that i should add into the mix there?
Hi welcome to the community! You have started out with excellent stuff in my opinion! I would put the clowns you have with them, since you are definitely starting down that great recessive road and will need a few seasons to really reap the rewards of visual clowns. May I point out though that you may not want to put your Russo clown to the Mojave females, unless you want blue eyed lucys, which are cool but hard to identify other genes for sure. I would go with the leopard clown that is poss phantom. Phantom and Mojave make purple passions which would be easier to see what you are working with in each individual animal. At some point you may want to add ghi het clown in there as well, would go great with Mojave and black pastel, not to mention how cool any ghi clown morph is! Above all try to produce what you like to see and you will always be excited to see it! Good luck!
Those were all similar thoughts that i had too. Was interested in throwing ghi mystic in with my mojave black pastel girls possibly. And was definitely wanting to pop that phantom boy in there with one of the females to prove out that phantom gene (he was marked as a pastel leopard clown poss phantom. So figure that would be a fairly clear way to prove him out if he throws a purple passion!)
…also i do have a couple of 100% het clown females in the project to hopefully throw way more visual clowns in within a season or teo right away. I didnt wanna wait to breed out my clown males to make some females. But i really wanna make some leopardclowns so my pastel leopard clown poss phantom boy might be put to some work when hes ready!
If you want to post a pick of the leopard poss phantom maybe some of the experienced people with those genes could identify if they think phantom is in there as well?
