I’m very careful though, and since always bringing them outside I’m used to knowing when going to jump etc

Oh no, Cresties can swim.
It’s more of instinct not to drown as they’re not geckos that like to swim.

Man, I hope so. I’ve got two clutches literally ready to begin pipping any minute. I’m about to explode with impatience. Pretty sure that actually sends out pheromones that act to slow hatching…

Well, you’re going to need to work with another species to see noses. 
Hognoses would be a good choice, or rat snakes, how about both.
