The toughest part to fight is how much of this is due to Habitat Loss. There is a great need to preserve more land, and manage land better, in working partnership with indigenous populations who know how to make the land thrive.
(another high contender being feral domestic cats. Keep your cats indoors!)

This is deeply saddening. I agree with @athleticshoelace to keep your cats inside. I constantly see the neighborhood cats running around with snakes in their mouths. Good for mice, very bad for the rest of the ecosystem. Sadly, many of us can’t make a super big impact on deforestation and logging problems, but that is just the way it is.
