2026 baby boas

Here are some new 2026 babies from my BCI female sunglow Ember and my BCC X BCI male hypo jungle het albino Mars. 16 babies and 6 slugs born around 3am today. Mom is a little weak as she stopped eating for me 3 to 4 months ago. She is getting a nice FT rat tonight with some extra vitamins in it. As you can see Mars has a strong jungle gene in him. Even Gracie wanted to check them out. :rofl:

Congrats on the gorgeous litter, Tom!! Ember did such a good job, I hope she recovers quickly for you! I absolutely adore that stripey albino/sunglow in the 2nd to last image - do I smell a holdback? :winking_face_with_tongue:

If it’s a male I probably will keep it.

Here are some pictures after I gave them a bath today. They are getting more color to them every day now.

Congratulations, Tom! Oh my goodness, they’re wonderful! I didn’t realize that boas had such large litters! It’s that usual or did Ember really excel in numbers?

@caryl

I average 15 babies a clutch. Have had 25 to 36 babies before. I even had two big females many years ago that were 50 + lbs die with 55 babies in them.

I had no idea! That’s really amazing. For some reason (or maybe no reason at all :upside_down_face:) I had it in my head that a typical litter was something like 6-10. Clearly I was very mistaken. I love learning new things. Thanks.

Congrats again!
