Ok Dean, I’m am now COMPLETELY CERTAIN that you were once a salesman of some sort, and I am thinking cars at the moment!
Thank you Caryl! Turnip is staying put too!
Thank you so much for getting a vet diagnosis. I was so interested to read up on CH. One of the causes that I saw listed was exposure to mycotoxins during development, which I think could definitely have been the mold.

This is the same as Wobbly Cat Syndrome, yes? Does he wobble as he goes, like a spider complex BP might?
No not really. Sometimes he will roll part of his body when slithering along. But he doesn’t wobble. Also he sometimes can’t figure out which way he is going. And he had no peripheral vision.
So interesting! I wondered how a cerebellum issue would impact an animal that doesn’t have to coordinate limbs or balance on multiple limbs - that makes total sense
Before I sent him to Dean I took him to my vet and she diagnosed him. However he is way better now than when he was a little baby! He would literally flail around at times until he gained his balance.
Even though his condition won’t improve medically, I’m guessing that the heavier he gets, the more gravity itself helps his coordination. Like ballast.
Yup you are probably correct Dean! And I have no doubt he will put on a few with you!
How in the world did anybody figure this out?
He didn’t need blinders in his snake races, so they concluded that he could only see forward.
But seriously, I’m not sure how the vet knew. She may have actually been assessing his reaction to movements at different positions. Or maybe it’s a super common symptom of the condition.
My reptile vet observed him at all angles. She has seen this before. She is an amazing reptile vet.
Yeah she said she has seen this before so it didn’t take long for her to make has assessment/analysis.
She observed him for several minutes watching his movements while he slithered around
It’s a combination of both
She sounds like it!
I’ll have a handling session with him in a few days, after he digests. I just need to remember not to force him into the contortions I do for the other corns.
I am sure he will enjoy it Dean!
