Advice for Mounting Fixture

Hello all. I’m attempting to mount an Arcadia Lamp Holder pro inside my 36x18x18 Exo Terra. My concern is that the fixture and light together are ~7in in length, and with substrate in the enclosure (leopard gecko home) I’m afraid that it’ll be too close to the surface and be too hot. Also, if you have pics of your enclosures with fixtures inside I’d love to see them.
Thanks,

I just keep my heat fixture on top of my vivarium.

That’s how I do ‘em too. Just, not as pretty!

Unfortunately I need to stack my enclosures, so interior mounting is my way forward.

I don’t see a whole lot of options. You can reduce the wattage of the light to compensate for being closer to the surface. Or you can change the heating method completely. A RHP would have a much slimmer form factor.

Thanks. I’m reconsidering everything now. Appreciate the POV.

Did you decide what your going to do?

Putting the light in the enclosure will likely require a low watt bulb.

Plus you would likely need a guard around it (depending on the reptile you keep in there)
