…my pair of Mourning Geckos Pip and Squeak finally have their first Pipsqueak (that I know of)
I’ve sat at their enclosure every night for the longest time since their first clutch that failed on me, hoping to finally see some teeny little babies wandering about and tonight is finally that night.
I cannot express the adrenaline dump I experienced when I spotted the baby!
I’m sure with that little one’s presence there are many more about. I’ve searched all over their enclosure for eggs but I’ve made it to the point that they must hide their eggs really well because I haven’t been able to find any for the longest time, and they don’t use their removable laying tubes and hides either
I will continue to keep an eye out for more but honestly right now I think I need a moment to process my excitement
Edit: I did manage to capture the baby so she has a chance away from her parents. She’s now safe and sound in a little acrylic enclosure.
Oh my goodness Christina what an exhilarating experience! Congratulations and kudos to you for your vigilance! I can imagine how teeny tiny those little eggs must be! Too bad momma doesn’t cooperate with you and use the lay box!
Congratulations Christina! It will be interesting to see this sweet little egg progress! Not to ambush your thread but I gotta share this with you. I’m still waiting on the first one to even hatch!
Ohhh it looks like the upper right and lower middle egg are close, they’re big and round! I’m super excited to see what baby Chameleon Geckos look like
I really want a mourning gecko terrarium one day but i don’t know what id do with excess mourning geckos lol. I feel like it would turn into several mourning gecko enclosures rather quickly.
