Yay, exciting! Personally I love surprises and I love clutches with variety, so I think this is a great start to the hatching season!
Thanks! I am like you, Olivia. I enjoy lots of variety in clutches. This clutch has more than I expected!
Morning count shows three babies out, two un-pipped eggs. Still haven’t gotten a good look at the ones who are out, though. They are deeply buried (darn it).
Excellent! I’m glad they’re providing some surprises. That’s always fun.
Hopefully those last 2 pip soon! Beautiful babies too!
Thanks! Hopefully the last two will pip today. I’m dying to get a good look at them all. I was hoping that some would be on hanging out on top of the moss, but no such luck.
Little devils already!!!
Baby corn snake time!!! These little guys look great!
Beautiful! Congrats Caryl.
Got some very nice Strawberry Bloodreds het Anery, 66% ph Amel, ph Charcoal and some flaming hot Strawberry Fires het Anery. I’ll wait until after they’ve shed before I get too deeply into the ID weeds with figuring out who is Red Factor or Super Red Factor. Then there is the question about Anery A or Charcoal. Hoo boy!
Here is one of each basic morph from the clutch.
Thank you! I’m delighted and charmed- and bemused by the not-red babies. Lol
Congratulations Caryl! They are gorgeous!!!
Thanks, Caron.
They were very calm in hand when I was setting them up. It’s nice when they start that way.
Aw, I love them! I love the soft colors and patterns of freshly hatched babies before their first sheds.
Thanks! I love that deadly hatched, soft look too.
Edit: oops. I meant *freshly hatched!
Wow, what gorgeous babies you have!! Absolutely beautiful, parents included!
And there are more to come! @caryl You should have a reality show on tv! Caryl’s Cornucopia! A day in the life of Caryl Ulrich, super breeder and lover of corns everywhere!
Thanks so much! I can’t wait for them to shed. All but one were very chill about their initial handling. I hope that lasts.
There’s are indeed more to come. LOTS more! The next batch of new pippies should arrive within a week. Possibly tonight. The eggs have that “about to hatch” smell.
Haha, thanks @caron, but a reality show following my life would be nothing but boring. I am not a super breeder by any means. I am certainly the last part of that statement, though. Count me in as a lover of corns everywhere!
