I have been getting Aphrodite treatment for some tumors since May 4. She has had 3 surgeries and lots of meds for months. Each time I get the tumor removed, it comes back worse. She has not eaten for 60 days now. She is not even interested in eating, and that is not like her.
The past two days, she’s coiled up her puppy pee pads as if she is in a lot of pain. She is not trying to eat them. She just twisted up her body.
So I brought her into my veterinarian buddy today, and we put her to sleep. She is no longer suffering and at peace now.
I buried her in the front yard. She is 19-1/2
years old. I will miss her as she was a very good boa. Never tried to bite anyone.
Oh no, Tom, I am so very sorry for your loss. I know how much you loved Aphrodite, she was such an incredibly sweet and beautiful girl. She will be missed. Much love to you, your family, and the rest of your noodles.
Aw man that’s so tough Tom. The greatest act of love you can give your pet is letting them go when it’s time. It’s way harder on you and even knowing you did the right thing doesn’t ease your pain. But time heals and you have plenty more to keep you busy. Of course your sweet Aphrodite will always have her place in your heart along with the others that passed before you. That’s why you have such a big heart Tom. . God bless you.
I know it was extremely painful to do, I understand that all the way- but you did the best you could for her… Reocurrent tumors and many surgeries to remove them are very taxing on the body and she was in pain.
She’s at rest now and wont be burdened with illness and pain anymore. I hope you can find some peace of mind from this as well.
I’m so, so sorry for your loss. It takes great strength of character to take stock of a beloved pet’s quality of life and make the hard choice, after such a long and painful battle.
My heart goes out to you and to Aphrodite. She seemed like a really special girl, and like you honoured her as such.
I’ve been working with a young cat with what is looking to be cancer and it really is one of the most frustrating things. It’s so rough on the little ones and it’s hard to let them go, but sometimes that’s the best thing you can do. Thank you for letting her rest
