Are we missing something in these genetics?

What exactly do you find weird? I do not see anything among those babies that would be unexpected given the parents

Mostly it was the leopard lesser, the first baby. Most of our lessers look so much lighter and so did all the ones I saw when trying to research the genetics. The little gal is just so very dark every one kept telling me yellow belly.
Thank you for confirming the rest too.
This is only our 3rd year and I often doubt myself, especially with a couple of our breeders having hidden genes and mistaken IDs from previous owners.

Leo tends to have a darkening effect on the BluEL group, that probably accounts for that one tripping you up a little. Also, depending on how recently it came out and shed out of the baby skin, the pigmentation might still be developing/oxidizing before settling into a bit more “normal” look :+1:t3:
