Auto misting

Just curious. Whoever uses auto misting systems, what setting seems to work for your crestie? how many misting nozzles do you use? Hours? timing per spray, enclosure type? Etc. Il start! I currently mist every 8 hours for about 10 seconds per mist in an 18x18x24 pvc enclosure. I use 2 double nozzles in opposite corners and this seems to work good for me.

Not a crestie owner, so I can’t really give a good timeline for things…

But I will say I like to nail down a good schedule for cleaning any misting or watering systems. Not just because hard water can build up and block them in some areas, but to also reduce the risk of bacterial growth.
For that I like to do at least a disinfecting 2 or 3x a year.

Might be good to list what the humidity levels that 3x daily mist gets you. Just cause what may be a good mist for you can be a real soaking for someone else depending on bedding, cage or even location

Did not even think about that! Thank you! I do clean the misting system and nozzels every season change (so about 4 times a year) and once a year i change out the water pipe lines. My geckos tank the lowest iv seen it drop to is about 50% highest is 85% max

I have a 40gal pvc bioactive enclosure for my Crestie. I got a misting system off of Amazon that includes the machine and 2 nozzles.

I use both nozzles and have a timer set to mist 10 seconds every 12 hours and that gets me at a good 65-70% steady humidity, the machine and line is connected to a water jug (a modified and cleaned kitty litter bucket) along with my other misting system for my ATB.

I only have to refill the bucket 1x a month at most if I didn’t already dump it every 2 weeks to refresh the water. I’ll also go around and take out all of my misting nozzles and clean them with vinegar and an old toothbrush at the same time I change out the water from the bucket- it works really great at dissolving away hard water grime buildup!

So I believe Caramel is a Mr… I took a magnifying glass and looked for pores and I believe I did see some. Still going to wait longer for a 100% confirmation.

He is doing great! He had a bit of a strike from bugs for a while but I got him to eat a couple dubia nymphs Wednesday and he absolutely demolishes his capfulls of Pangea Growth and Breeding.
