I’ve wanted an eastern for about 15 years now, and when I could get my hands on a CBB melanistic that was eating unscented rodents, I HAD to have him! (I am NOT a colubrid person but I have a soft spot for easterns and FWC’s)
I payed a pretty penny for him and it’s well worth it! Definitely my favorite colubrid I own and he’s never given me any fuss with feeding

Kinda hoping I can get a crimson line female one day. If you have never seen a crimson, those things are blood red with black saddles. It’s jaw dropping

I love eastern hoggies! They have so much natural variation in color and patterns, also is is really cool that there is a wild population of melenistic animals as well! Everytime I’m in their native range herping I look for them but have not had any luck yet.

Totally disappointed I can’t find a picture of my tiger salamander as a baby. He looked so cute, similar to an axolotl. I’ll have to dig through old photos and find one and then post a before and after!
