Ball python behavior

How do I get my ball python from climbing on his light. He has gotten his Arcadia Jungle Dawn lights knocked down at least 5 times. He only does this at night when the light is off thankfully. I am just worried he will hurt himself. Thank you for any help you can provide. Here is a photo of my monkey boy.

You can’t really do anything other than make sure it has a cage on it, anything inside the tank is free game to explore. He might be dissuaded a bit if you add more stuff for him to do and climb on though. A lot of BPs seem to like skyhides, which are basically hides attached to the ceiling of the tank. Im sure you can find a guide on google if you want to give that a try

Yeah, as @autumngeckos said, it’s just what happens. Good suggestions too.

While they’re not an arboreal species, they like most snakes are escape artists and love to look at everything as a potential jailbreak implement. That or they just want to wedge themselves into a ‘safe’ place and don’t realize that this is far from the right place. I can see the red mark on his side from probably his most recent attempt? Lol.

The other thing I would also suggest is to check on the nighttime heat values. Remember heat rises so if it cools down he may be looking for the warmer spots. It’s probably just him being curious and wanting to hide, but if it is a temp shift than making the adjustments may help.
