Hi, I have a ball python who is currently in a 4x2x2 PVC enclosure. I use a halogen heat bulb for her in the daytime, and I was using a CHE at night and for supplemental heat as well. I am planning to switch to a DHP instead of the CHE. I have both heat lamps plugged into 2 separate dimming thermostats. I am having trouble getting her whole enclosure up to the proper temps, and was looking for some advice on where to put the thermostat probes or how to help with that.

I would appreciate any and all advice/help! She is my first snake, and she was given to my EX by someone and I took her with me when I left him. I absolutely adore her and want to make sure I’m giving her the best care possible :heart:

More than likely, inability to get temps up has little to do with probe placement. If you could post photos of the enclosure (so to show where heat elements are located, what degree of ventilation the enclosure has, and so on), and give details on target/set point/actual enclosure temps, room temps, heat element wattage, and the like, it would help with troubleshooting.
